South El Monte Arts Posse (SEMAP) provides access to the materials on this website for the purposes of research and education. Please do not share or reproduce without permission.
SEMAP holds all rights, title, and interest, including literary rights and copyright, to the oral histories collected and made available on this site by SEMAP oral historians. Oral history narrators retain the non-exclusive right to copy, use, and publish their oral histories during their lifetimes.
In addition to oral histories collected by SEMAP, this site includes a wide variety of materials obtained from many different sources, created and provided by many different individuals and institutions in the South El Monte and El Monte communities (as well as the wider San Gabriel Valley and Los Angeles area). SEMAP may or may not hold copyright for these items. SEMAP cannot grant or deny permission to distribute those items for which it does not own the rights. These materials may only be used with permission from the copyright owner, or within the limits of fair use and other statutory exceptions. It is the user's obligation to determine and satisfy copyright or other use restrictions when publishing or otherwise distributing materials to which SEMAP does not own the rights.
