Description
Newspaper article on the possible eviction of six hundred residents of Hick's Camp, Spanish-speaking community located on the bank of the Rio Hondo, immediately west of El Monte following an announcement by Stanley Hicks. Rev. John V. Coffield explains that he and three other local ministers—Rev. Louis Velasco and Rev. Dwight Ramage, both of the Presbyterian church, and Rev. Manuel Gonzales, of the Pentecostal Church— had formed a committee to identify and secure a plot of ground large enough for the possible relocation of the Hicks Camp residents.
